Promise the customer, out of this world customer satisfaction.
Make sure to follow through with pre calls and post calls,
if you do have any customer escalations ensure you have a quick follow up time, make promises and better yet keep them. Remind them they are a customer before they are a client, Online allow for live post and testimonies to be made on your home page, Everyone is a customer in some shape or form, really without knowing the basis of the eBuisnees this is all I can throw at you, what ever you are trying to Market find a way to play off that and incorporate World Class customer service, which ultimately bring you customer satisfaction.

This is a PDF file/list of all their hot selling items; Review it and you should be able to determine what product(s) are hot, that you can sell, as well as see what products are 'cold' and are not sellling as much...thus knowing what to stay away from.

I may work...there are already sites out there that BID for buyers. I've never use one but from what I've read they work very well.

You'll have people that won't pay, and you're stuck with it. I doubt you'd get much interest. Why pay extra when you could do it yourself?

Sell what you know A LOT about. Otherwise eBay will chew you up and spit you out. Don't just sell any ol thing cause it's medium sized. Customers who know more than you will take advantage of you. Like the guy said above me : Research! Otherwise you're doomed.

I am an ebay powerseller and I have found it very difficult.
However, I set myself a budget say $100-$200 a week and I target garage sales that I find on craigslist and the local newspaper...I use a nav system to save me time.

I have been able to scrape by a living by buying low and selling high. The trick is to know what to buy and that just takes common sens and research.

I also supplement it by taking higher items in on commission.

You have to treat it as a business...set hours..set schedule...if you dont you are done before you start.

The drop-shipping companies I have looked at have all been high..really high...they say it is a wholesale price...whatever!! They are charging you a slightly discounted retail..on products that will sell right at that price or right below and then they charge inflated shipping which you have to either have to pass on or absorb. Its not worth the fee to sign on.

There is nothing like buying something for a dollar and selling it for $200...best turn arounds are old collectibles...and vintage books..(first edition famous books..they are more common than you think.)

Hi Matt,
If you want to sell small to medium items and not too expensive, chances are, you are not going to make money on ebay.The running around you are going to be making with very tight margins will be the death of you.However, you might take a look at and you will be able to have your very own ebay info store and will not involve you making trips to the post office.It might also help looking into drop shipping.If you know about dropshipping then that is a start,if you don't, have a read about it at.
Matt, try to think about niches.First of all, there is no chance on God's earth that you can compete with the big guys on ebay.If you are passionate about something,try to find an angle whereby you will be able to monetize the situation.Think outside the box,don't try to sell to the whole world,find the niche that you can present to the world either through ebay or your own site.Keep your eyes peeled when you are about your local stores,there could be bargains that you could exploit on ebay.Whatever you decide to sell, i hope its a prosperous one.
Don't even think about competing with the big guys on ipod and nintendo because they buy in bulk and have the contacts.Find your niche.

Ebay used to be the best place, but from what you want to do, i.e sell low priced items, EBay's fee structure will kill your business before you start.
Try you can list there for free and they have been going since 1999.
You will need to put work into your business to make it pay, and it wont happen overnight.

Are you looking for something where you can work from home? If so ...almost all home-based business have a "start up fee". Some require yearly fees and some are just a one time fee and you're always in the business. The start up fees can be something small ($50-200) and some companies charge a lot up to several thousand dollars but you're getting your money's worth because you're getting products as well.
If you're really serious about looking for something, check this one out, it's a presentation that tells about the company, if you like what you see, you fill the form out and someone will get back in touch with you right away. You just never know what might be the one for you, you just have to shop around. But some are scams and you need to be careful. Shop around, do research and check with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Check them out to see if they're legit or have complaints.

A real network marketing business that will allow you to create a recurring monthly income.

Your major costs will be the time and/or cash you will need to spend to create traffic to your site.

The requirements vary according to your state. Call the business license office for your county and just ask them if you need a business license to operate an internet store. I live in Georgia, and in my county, you do.

You might want to check with your local Small Business Association. As far as I remember we didn't need one. I ran an Internet business several years ago and I was told I didn't need a license.
